The legendary Peter Gabriel returns to stage with the sort of innovative and visionary performance that he is renowned for. Filmed in 3D and HD in March 2011 to a sold-out London’s Hammersmith Apollo, to a backdrop of multiple video screens and supported by a 46-piece orchestra and full band, Gabriel delivers a selection of new and timeless hits including Don’t Give Up, Red Rain, and In Your Eyes. Gabriel’s concerts are always a feast of fantasy and creativity – here it all is at his very best.
The nights featured a handful of cover versions from last year’s Scratch My Back project (Radiohead and Arcade Fire) however New Blood’s primary task was to present Peter’s songs in an orchestral setting, culled from right across his solo career and including classics such as Sledgehammer and Biko. Dispensing with the traditional weapons of the rock armoury – no guitar, bass or drums – the lyrics were exposed and laid bare, often taking new meaning with the passing of the years.
“The New Blood Orchestra were simply superb .…….. they pushed and pulled, soared and plummeted.” Omniverse Vision is pleased to present Peter Gabriel and the New Blood Orchestra in incredible 3D and Dolby Digital surround sound
